China and ICT Standardisation
Proposed Session on Chinese ICT Standards at Society for the Social
Studies of Science (4S) Annual Meeting, Tokyo, August 2010, held
jointly with Japanese Society for Science and Technology Studies
August 25 – 29, 2010

Members of the China - European Union Standards Project are planning
to submit a proposal to hold a session on China and ICT standardisation
at the 4S Annual Meeting to be held in Tokyo in August. The closing
date for session proposals is February 15th, so we invite anyone
interested in presenting a paper in this session on the social anaylysis
of current Chinese standards activity and policy to email an abstract,
maximum 500 words, to Ian
Graham at University of Edinburgh before February 13th. The
abstract should include a summary of the paper's main arguments
and methodology, as well as a brief statement on the contribution
of the paper to the sociology of technology literature.
